rediscovered on a reminiscent flick through the pictures of my philanthropic dash to africa last year. this one, unfortunately, is only a photograph of a picture in the apartheid museum in johannesburg. i couldnt help myself to a discreet shot (after being sternly told "no pictures", finger pointing to the large sign showing a cross through a camera). sigh, but the layering of those neckpieces...

etude in e minor.

a lazy sunday afternoon. chopin. a bottle of red. dark chocolate. and a sewing machine. 
oh yes. an absolutely perfect moment to gather an effort, and make the tulle skirt for which i bought a bunch of material and has been lying in my wardrobe gathering dust for months. 
really, this is the easiest thing you could ever make, which is wearable and looks half decent.
instructions:
step 1. 
take tulle in the colour of your most fabulous choice (about 2m length or more if you want major voluminous pleats) and fold in half, or 3/4 if desiring a layered effect.
step 2.
sew a straight line 1cm from folded edge. 
step 3.
thread ribbon through waistline.  
step 4.
trim to a length of your choice...et viola!

i first met pamela love (mesmerized by a raven skull necklace) while on a plunder through an inconspicuous little boutique named fallow hidden inside brisbane's fortitude valley. 
the incredible pamela love talon cuff from the newest collection by the NYC designer. oh i do like shiny gunmetal.
